Resolution of the Diocese of
Newark RESOLVED, That this 131st Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark extends an offer of companionship to the Bishop and people of the Diocese of Panama, whereby we commit to engage in a time of recognition of the gifts of each Diocese and discernment of the challenges faced by the Church in each place, with the hope that this will lead to the establishment of a Covenant of Companionship to further the mission of the Church in Newark and in Panama.

of Panama Resolution No. 3 Whereas: 1. The Diocese of Newark in its search for a Companionship relation has manifested its desire to establish a Companion Diocese relation with the Diocese of Panama. 2. In January of the year 2005, the members from the Companion Diocese of Newark visited the Diocese of Panama. 3. In November 2005 several members from the Companion Diocese Committee visited the Diocese of Newark in New Jersey, U. S. A. 4. That both Dioceses present similarities and opportunities of mutual support. Be It Resolved: SOLELY: To recommend to this 86th Diocesan Convention to make an approval so as to enter into a formal relation of Companion Diocese with the Diocese of Newark in the State of New Jersey of the United States of America. Resolution of the Episcopal Church
Executive Council Resolution No. INC-015 Resolved, That the Executive Council meeting in Portland, Oregon from March 2 -- 4, 2007 vote to recognize a new Companion Diocese Relationship between the Diocese of Newark and the Episcopal Church of Panama in the Anglican Church of the Central American Region, until such time as this relationship is terminated by mutual consent.
